Umoe Solar

Umoe Solar was established in 2007 envisaging a solar photovoltaic (PV) group that integrates the solar PV value chain to ensure that our products are competitive with conventional electricity generation. We thereby seek to ascertain that our business model is a sustainable one, even if political or financial events should cause reduced support for our industry in the future.

Umoe Solar is established in 3 locations: Oslo (NO) and Dresden (DE) and Miramichi (CAN). Our team consists of experienced technical, project and financial staff and the recruitment is ongoing. The Umoe Group

The Umoe Group is a Norwegian investment company founded in 1984. The Group is one of Norway’s largest and most successful privately held holding companies with interests in marine transportation, maritime equipment, electrical installation, restaurants, IT and telecoms as well as a portfolio of large minority stakes in publicly listed companies. Recently, the group has invested in renewable energy through Umoe Bioenergy, a major bioethanol producer in Brazil ,and Umoe Solar.

Umoe develops its companies through acquisition, restructuring and organic growth, investing counter-cyclically whilst willingly accepts the risks associated with this type of business model. The group is controlled by the president and CEO, Jens Ulltveit-Moe.
